About Me

Northern Rivers psychotherapy
Trauma therapist

Bella Vishali Movia

LGBTQ+ therapist

Hi, I’m Bella and I’m so glad you’re here. Taking the step to explore therapy is an act of courage, self-awareness, and hope, and I’m honoured to support you on your journey.

My work is grounded in a deep curiosity about what it means to be human — how we relate to ourselves, to each other, and how we make sense of experiences that challenge or change us. I’m particularly drawn to working with people navigating complexity in their relationships or exploring deeper questions through altered states of consciousness.

Before becoming a psychotherapist, I worked as a critical care nurse for over twenty years across multiple hospitals and specialties. This experience gave me a profound understanding of how stress, trauma, and life-altering events impact both the body and mind, and shaped my commitment to approaches that support deeper healing and integration.

As a Gestalt therapist, I take a relational, somatic, and experiential approach. I’m interested not only in your story, but in how you are experiencing yourself and your relationships in the present moment — and how we can bring greater awareness, connection, and choice into that experience.

Relationships & Identity

Relationships are central to how we experience life, yet they can also be one of the most challenging and vulnerable spaces we navigate. I work with couples and people in a wide range of relationships, supporting them to move through conflict, deepen understanding, and create more authentic connection.

As a member of the LGBTQ+ community, I bring lived experience of relationships with men, women, non-binary, and trans individuals. My own journey of self-discovery began later in life and involved deep questioning and a reimagining of identity and connection. This gives me an embodied understanding of the diversity and nuance within modern relationships.

I offer a space that is inclusive, affirming, and grounded in respect - where each person can feel seen, understood, and supported in being who they are.

Altered States & Psychedelic Integration

I specialise in supporting people who are exploring or integrating altered states of consciousness, including psychedelic experiences.

These experiences can be deeply meaningful and transformative, but they can also bring forward complex emotions, insights, or questions that are difficult to navigate alone. I support you in preparing for these experiences with intention, and in integrating what arises in a way that feels grounded, embodied, and sustainable in your everyday life.

This work is approached with care, respect, and a strong trauma-informed foundation.

How I Work

My approach is collaborative, relational, and attuned to your unique experience. I draw on somatic awareness, mindfulness, and experiential practices, allowing the work to unfold in a way that is responsive to you.

I aim to create a space where you can show up as you are — without needing to filter or perform — and where we can explore what is present with honesty, curiosity, and care.

Whether you’re seeking support for your relationships, exploring identity, or integrating powerful experiences, I offer a space to deepen awareness, reconnect with yourself, and move toward meaningful change.

If this feels like the right fit for you, you’re welcome to get in touch or book a session.
